Estate Planning

Guardianships

Special Needs Trusts

A good estate plan brings peace of mind, particularly if someone in your family has special needs. Let us help you understand your options and develop a comprehensive plan.

Guardianships can enable family members to make decisions on behalf of those with disabilities. We have expertise in establishing, renewing, transferring and dismissing guardianships. Learn whether a guardianship is the right step for your family, or whether another alternative might work better.

Special needs trusts allow people with disabilities to stay on public benefits like SSI and Medicaid. They can be set up to exist now or after you pass away, and they can be funded with your assets or the person with the disability's own money. Many of our clients choose to serve as trustees for their family members.

We assist families in initial eligibility hearings for SSI and SSDI. Our expertise is with claims involving intellectual and developmental disabilities or mental health issues. We also help our clients navigate the maze of systems and benefits.
